COOL DOWN

When delivering care to others, it’s important to maintain your own physical and mental well-being.

Take a break, “cool down.”

What Self-care Strategies Help You Recharge?

We want to hear from TNA members. Please share self-care strategies that help you “cool down.”

I cool down with icey cold water or shaved ice.

Some of the ways I “cool down” include playing board games with my family, putting 1000 piece puzzles together, or watching my kids play golf.

I cool down by enjoying ice cream and spending time with my two kiddos at the splash pad. Watching them laugh and play in the water is the perfect way to relax and refresh after a long day. It’s all about sweet treats and sweet memories!

Our family loves playing in the water. From the backyard, creeks, puddles, to the ocean and everything in between. Sprinklers or slip-n-slides are a big highlight of summer afternoons. Most importantly our safety swim classes, that teach our kids to rescue themselves. My husband and I also like to make refreshing drinks which is especially appreciated in those Texas Summers. But don't be surprised if you find us a ice skating rink in the middle of winter either! No matter how we cool down, we like to do it together
