A Message from Outgoing TNF President, Kit Bredimus
As I wrap up my second and final term as President of the Texas Nurses Foundation, I want to share what a true honor and privilege it has been to serve. Over the past several years, we’ve experienced transformational growth and laid the groundwork for a stronger, more inclusive, and more innovative Texas Nurse Foundation.
One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is the revitalization of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. We expanded board seats and implemented a formal application and selection process to ensure we bring forward the best leaders to serve all Texas nurses. For the first time in our history, we welcomed both an early careerist and a non-nurse professional to the board. This was an intentional step toward diverse perspectives and broader representation. I am excited for the next class of incoming board members, who bring rich, varied experiences and a shared commitment to advancing our mission.
A major milestone for the foundation also includes the formation of the Claire B. Jordan Endowment and Claire B. Jordan Fund. Claire’s vision and legacy continue to impact Texas nursing through this fund, and I’m proud to share that we celebrated the first dispersion of these dollars to support the Texas Nurses Association’s Evidence-Based Practice Fellows. This is the kind of sustainable, long-term support that will empower nurses to lead with data, compassion, and confidence.
Thanks to the work of so many, including our CEO Dr. Bumpus and the TNA staff, the Texas Nurses Foundation is now on solid footing and ready for further growth. With an incredibly talent-stacked board, I’m confident the momentum will continue and that the best is still ahead.
To my fellow outgoing board members Tammy Eades and Gayle Dasher, thank you for your years of dedicated service, wisdom, and passion. It’s been a joy and a privilege to lead alongside you.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Kit Bredimus DNP, RN, CNML, NE-BC, CENP, NEA-BC, FACHE, FAONL, FNAP TN
